![]() There are a couple of reasons the 6200 is note-worthy. Both are clocked at a 350MHz GPU core and 350MHz memory speed and should retail for $79 and $99 dollars respectively. The GPU is a four pixel-pipe, 128-bit memory bus design that comes in two varying configurations - one with a 32bit bus, the other with 64bit. Additionally, the two cards will also be available at retailers and etailers very soon. Over the course of the last several months, ATI has been beating NVIDIA big-time in the low price-point sector with its X300 card - NVIDIA needed something quick, cheap and more feature-rich than ATI and that solution comes in a couple different configurations: - GeForce 6200 w/ TurboCache supporting 128MB, including 16MB of local TurboCache - GeForce 6200 w/ TurboCache supporting 128MB, including 32MB of local TurboCache Quite a confusing way to label the cards we think, but nonetheless these two products are an important step in the right direction of getting NVIDIA back onto the road of getting OEM design wins in the value market segment. While NVIDIA is still hot-to-trot with developing high-end parts, its primary focus at a recent launch event is its new 6200 series of cards which feature a new technology called "TurboCache". Truth be told, there's far more money to be made by providing low-end to mainstream graphic chips than the more expensive enthusiast cards.
